Remove an Intimate Image
Last Updated: September 8, 2026
If an intimate image of you was posted on Muse without your consent, we will take it down. You do not need a Muse account to ask, and you do not need to explain yourself beyond the details below.
Email removal@museapp.co with the subject line Intimate image removal request.
We remove the image within 48 hours of receiving a complete request.
What this covers
An intimate image is a photo or video of you that shows nudity or sexual conduct, including an image that was created or altered to look like you, such as a deepfake. This process is for images published without your consent. If you are under 18, or the image is of someone under 18, tell us in the email and we will treat it as an emergency and report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as the law requires.
What to include
So we can find the image and act on it, please include:
- Your name and a way to reach you, so we can confirm the removal with you.
- Enough detail for us to find the image. A link, a screenshot, the profile or event wall where it appears, the display name of the account that posted it, and roughly when you saw it. Any one or two of these is usually enough.
- A good faith statement that the image is of you and that it was shared without your consent.
- Your typed signature. Typing your full name at the end of the email counts.
You do not need to send us the image itself, and please do not send additional copies of it.
What happens next
- We look for the image as soon as your request arrives.
- We remove it within 48 hours of a complete request, and we make reasonable efforts to find and remove identical copies elsewhere on Muse.
- We act on the account that posted it, up to a permanent ban.
- We write back to confirm what we did.
- If your request is missing something we need, we will tell you exactly what, and the 48 hours run from when we have it.
There is no penalty for asking in good faith, even if we conclude the image is not covered by this process. If it breaks our Community Guidelines in some other way, we will act on it anyway.
